Hi,

In order to select specific products to appear in the carousel and new products (front page), you'll need to edit each of the associated views (carousel and new_products). I think currently it's setup to just display the newest products posted, but the way I usually do this is to add filtering by taxonomy. So for example, tag a product with 'featured' and then add a filter to the view to only display products with that tag. You'd do this by navigating to Administer > Site Building > Views, clicking the edit link next to the view, and using the + icon on the pane labeled 'Filter'.

You'd also change the settings for the carousel in the View - on the carousel view edit screen, in the basic settings pane, you'll see 'Style: Views Carousel' with a gear icon next to it. Click the gear icon, and near the bottom of the Carousel config you'll see an option for Autoscrolling. Currently it should be set at 0, you'd just want to set this to 0 and save the view.

Regarding the updates - I'm going to update right now to make sure there's no problems and I'll get back to you in a few minutes.

Just checked, and you should be able to update everything (note that Views Carousel must be 2.x-dev). However, I did discover something odd, which is that in the Easy Installer package the update.php script was missing. You'll need to rename and copy over the attached version of it.
