Just purchased Smooth Sailing, looking forward to getting it running.

Have unzipped and FTP'd the Easy Installer 6.x folder to the root of my server.

I already have Drupal running (just installed it two weeks ago and have been tweaking around with free templates till now).

If the 'fresh install' is truly my best bet for easy install and stability, do I have to uninstall my current instance? Or will I be installing it and overwriting the current instance?

Any direction appreciated...

Thanks!

Oh, plus I've got some modules already installed and configured (like pathauto and an upgraded forum). Am I going to lose those?

If you're using the Easy Installer, you would have to start with a fresh installation (create a new database, FTP the contents of the Easy Install folder). If you want to set up the the theme/modules from scratch, you may not find it very difficult unless you're fairly new to Drupal - it's 10 steps. It probably wouldn't take any more than 20 minutes to go through the guide if you don't want to lose the work you've done with pathauto and the forum.

Thanks. I think that's the way I'll go... I'm pretty new to Drupal but familiar w CMS in general, and my son is a professional Drupal user. We'll figure it out.

Thanks! Looking forward to launching my new look!

'Kay, partway through the install. Problem:

The directions indicate I need to ftp a module called jsTools.

This module is not in the zip.

I can go to Drupal and get it I presume, but want to be sure it's necessary, or is this a newer version of Smooth Sailing that doesn't actually need it?

Ah! That's an error in the document. The module isn't required. I construct the guides from past guides, so it's a remnant of the 'Diver' instructions. Sorry for the confusion!
