I have all the post information turned off for themes in the global setting and in the Deepsea setting but it is still appearing.

How can I turn off the date and article author in both the teaser and the node?

Hm, this sounds like a bug that was present a few months back, but had been corrected. There was a problem node.tpl.php. I've added the most recent version to this post, so try overwriting the one you're currently using and see if it makes a difference. If not, we'll go from there. :)
